5 Storage and Organization Ideas for Your Bathroom Vanity

Hosting a party or dinner sounds like fun, but according to TheLadders.com, 51% of respondents found hosting a party or dinner a stressful experience. We often forget the amount of cleaning and organization we have to do before we have guests over, especially in the bathroom. The following five tips will help you tackle organizing your bathroom vanity and cabinets with creative storage solutions you and your guests will both love!

Declutter

The first thing to do is pull everything out of your bathroom vanity and cabinets so you can see the space you have to work with. You may not even remember the last time you did this, so check all expiration dates and toss out expired items or items you no longer use. Unopened items can also be donated to local shelters and pantries.

Use Adhesive Hooks and Containers

Adhesive hooks and containers are a great tool for organizing your bathroom cabinets and saving counter space. Hooks can be mounted on the inside of cabinet doors to easily hang items such as a hairdryer or straightener and containers can be mounted to doors to hold smaller items such as nail polish. A magnetic strip can also be adhered to the cabinet door to hold metal items like nail clippers or hairpins.

Remove Cabinet Doors and Drawer Fronts

Easily open up your space by removing cabinet doors and drawer fronts and using attractive organizers for storage. Large items such as towels can be stored in large wicker baskets, and smaller items like bath products can be organized by decorative trays.

Reposition Shelves

Shelves can be moved around to provide the most storage possible in your bathroom vanities or cabinets. For tall items like hairspray, consider removing a shelf to make room, or make a short shelf that would be the perfect size to store items like nail polish or lipstick.

Tuck Away the Trash Can

You can save extra floor space and keep your trash can out of sight by utilizing your lower bathroom cabinets and vanities. The trash can simply be placed inside the cabinet, or a sliding mount can be installed in the cabinet to allow the can to slide out. Wherever you choose to relocate your trash can, make sure you can reach it easily when it needs to be emptied.

Organizing your bathroom vanity and cabinets doesn't have to be difficult. With these five tips, you can create a beautiful bathroom you can be proud of!
